and what we can do for you
The Allen Institute is located at 111 London Hall, on the corner of E. Stewart and 5th Street. The Institute was named in honor of the memory of Dr. Bryce Allen, professor at the iSchool from 1996-2001. Professor Allen was a leading researcher on information and cognition and a revered teacher.asdf
The Digital Humanities Commons @ The Allen Institute is the hub of digital humanities scholarship and innovation at the University of Missouri. The DHC is a partnership between Mizzou Advantage and MU’s iSchool. Its mission is to support current faculty research projects and catalyze new theories and tools for digital research in the arts and humanities disciplines.
The DHC offers a dedicated space, technical expertise, and access to networks for collaboration in a unique laboratory that allows faculty and their senior graduate students to experiment with ways to meld traditional humanities approaches with new media tools and techniques.
The iSchool and Allen Institute have ongoing University support and resources including a complement of permanent staff. Housing the DHC at the Allen Institute takes advantage of years of infrastructure development at the iSchool and offers humanities scholars the expertise, tools, and environment needed for innovation.
